A GOOD FEED FOR THOSE IN NEED
Our concern is about getting a warm word of encouragement and a hearty meal to people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, mental health issues, no or low income, disability and other health issues.
Throughout Canberra’s long winter (May to September), we serve up an average of 630 servings of hearty soup every week.
This comprises 230 servings of hot soup and 400 servings of frozen soup in takeaway containers (warmed up by recipients as they wish).
Our hottest hits include:
- BBQ sausage sizzle, hot soup and dessert at Ainslie Village and Kanangra Court on Saturdays and Sundays
- Hot soup at Dickson Shops and Canberra city on Tuesday nights
- Hot soup for Wednesday lunch (fortnightly) at the Early Morning Centre and for Thursday lunch (every week) at Vinnies Roadhouse in Canberra city
- Frozen soup distribution at: Ainslie Village and Kanangra Court on Saturdays and Sundays, the Blue Door on Tuesdays, the Early Morning Centre on Thursdays, and Vinnies Roadhouse on Fridays, and
- An average of 100kg of bakery items, fruit and vegetables distributed at Ainslie Village and Kanangra Court on Saturdays and Sundays every week.
